about us.

RIO 180 is a satellite church of Restoration International Outreach (RIO) in Maryville, TN. Bishop Ronnie Hepperly, Senior Pastor of RIO has a vision of bringing revival to Blount County and tearing down denominational barriers. Since 1998 he has worked diligently in doing so through RIO Central, the mother church of Restoration International Outreach. Because of his incredible passion to raise up, reproduce, and release leaders into Kingdom work Pastor Ronnie has launched satellite churches in strategic parts of Blount County. In November of 2005 the opportunity of launching RIO 180 presented itself to the RIO team. Pastor Brad Bryant was selected to lead the new church plant and, in keeping with Pastor Ronnie’s vision, the members at RIO Central were asked to pray and see if God would lead them to go with Pastor Brad and his wife Tammy and children to start the new church. In January 2006 the first service was held in Heritage High School. The identity of 180 was developed almost immediately as a church of dynamic, cutting edge worship, and practical reality preaching of the Word. The church grew throughout the year as they focused on mentoring and raising up children, youth, and young people into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The use of small groups is vital to this young, growing church. In December of 2006 God blessed the new church with the ability, through the RIO Network of Churches, to purchase the current property on Montvale Station Rd. The property and three buildings are located next to the most visited park in the city of Maryville. The sanctuary will seat over 300 adults with 8 classrooms upstairs and 5 more downstairs. The existing fellowship building was converted into children and youth facility with state of the art media, sound, and stage. The first service at the new location took place in January of 2007. In August of 2007 RIO 180 opened a new daycare, the Little River Learning Center @ 180, which was a vision of the church when the first visit was made to the property.

While the name 180 represents the change that happens in a person’s life after surrendering to Jesus, it also represents the vision the 180 team has to change the way that people have looked at church for years. Creating an environment that is welcoming to guests is very important. The foyer is inviting and the smiling faces that greet each person sets them at ease from the first impression. The music is exciting and anointed and purposed to lead the church into the presence of God. The messages are “real life” messages that speak to where we are in today’s society and challenge us to live according to the example left for us by Jesus through God’s Word.

Restoration International Outreach (RIO) Network of Churches is the parent organization of RIO Central, Rio South, RIO East, RIO Revolution, RIO 180, and several strategic partners. Our mission is to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We do so by creating environments where people are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy in God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders.
